Being absent from a creditor list calls for correction and evidence. Establish the right entity and ask the practitioner how to have your claim recorded.

Your company is missing from the circular
A hardware supplier receives a creditor update through another trade and cannot find its business on the list. It has unpaid invoices and delivery records, but the customer used a different trading name on some orders. The supplier needs to contact the appointed practitioner promptly rather than assume exclusion means the debt has been rejected.
Compare the legal debtor in the appointment with the orders and invoices. Search the list for the creditor's legal name and any trading name. A name mismatch may explain the apparent omission.
Do not alter documents just to fit the list. If the contractual party is uncertain, have it assessed and explain the discrepancy honestly.
Provide your legal name, contact details, claimed balance and the basis of the debt. Attach an account reconciliation and key supporting documents. Ask whether your claim is already recorded under another reference.
State when you learned of the appointment and request current notices and reports. This helps identify anything requiring prompt attention without accusing the practitioner of deliberately excluding you.
Ask whether further forms are needed for a meeting, voting or dividend assessment. ASIC explains that participation and payment can involve specific claim information and evidence.
Being added to a contact list is not the same as acceptance of every amount claimed. Keep the distinction clear in your own records and seek advice if liability is disputed.
Ask about relevant dates and whether a meeting or distribution process has already occurred. Obtain legal advice promptly where a deadline or claim decision may affect your position.
Correct your contact details and nominate someone to monitor future correspondence. The practical fix is both a properly supported claim and a reliable route for subsequent notices.
